The Journaling Muse – Issue #28 – The Mirror of Beauty
A soft space to reflect, reconnect, and create with feeling.
My intention is to help you slow down and soothe your nervous system — through colour, texture, and expressive journaling that speaks gently to your inner world.

Hi, Dear Reader,
I paused under the sycamore, overstimulated and adrift in the clammy air, when a shaft of light fell across the path.
Leaves were moving like gold leaves. For that heartbeat, everything stilled—my tiredness softened, replaced by a quiet awe.
I could paint that, came to my mind, and I got excited. The quiet awe changed the moment.
This issue is for those weary days when the world feels too much. When beauty—unexpected, quiet, and unassuming—offers a way back to yourself.

Why This Matters Now

Midsummer can feel like a blur—heat, noise, exhaustion, and the pressure of time passing.
But beauty softens the blur. Noticing a patch of moss, a shadow moving on the wall, the rhythm of a breeze—it grounds us, even briefly.
Beauty reminds us we’re here. And we’re alive.

Journaling Prompts – Through the Eyes of Beauty
- When did something unexpectedly beautiful stop you in your tracks?
- What small ordinary details feel sacred or alive to you lately?
- How can you build more “noticing” into your days

Creative Invitation – Go on a Beauty Walk

Move slowly. No goal. Just walk and look.
Notice the light on a doorknob. A leaf curled on the pavement. A ripple in a puddle.
Jot down what you find. Sketch it. Photograph it.
This is not about art—it’s about attention.
What changes when you pause and really see?

Sensory Practice – Grounding Through Senses
- Sit somewhere quiet.
- Close your eyes and name:
3 things you hear.
3 things you feel.
3 things you smell or taste.
- Open your eyes and name 3 beautiful things you see.
Let the moment anchor you.

Closing Thought

Beauty doesn’t fix everything. But it reminds us.
Of our breath. Of the softness still available.
And of the quiet magic always hiding in plain sight.
Notice something beautiful today—and let it change the way you move through the world.
Cheering you on,
Beáta
