The Journaling Muse – Issue #43 Where Is Your Light Hiding?
A soft space to reflect, reconnect, and create with feeling.
My intention is to help you slow down and soothe your nervous system — through colour, texture, and expressive journaling that speaks gently to your inner world.

Dear Reader,

This morning, while exercising, I listened to Mel Robbins interview Mark Nepo, and one line stopped me completely:
“The flower doesn’t dream of the bee. It blossoms, and the bee comes.”
We spend so much of our lives trying to “attract” what we want: opportunities, clarity, inspiration, but Nepo’s reminder is simple:
Become more alive, and what is meant for you arrives.
This fits perfectly with what I’ve been practicing in my own mornings, a small routine where I visualize and feel my dream life, just as Dr. Joe Dispenza teaches.
Not to chase anything.
But to become the version of me who is already living that life.
The more present I am, the more beauty I notice, the light on the wall, the pattern of leaves on a pavement, the warmth of my coffee cup.
And I realized:
By training our senses to glimpse small wonders, we prepare our hearts for the deeper mysteries to come.
This week, let’s practice noticing. Not chasing. Not striving. Just seeing what’s already here.

Journaling Prompts: Light in the Ordinary
- What is one ordinary moment that felt special today?
- Where did light, shadow, or pattern catch my attention recently?
- What small experience brought me comfort or wonder this week?
- When do I feel most present in my daily routine?
- How might I collect and cherish these micro-moments in the season ahead?
Optional (Mark Nepo–inspired)
“Like the moon, come out from behind the clouds.” What inner light is waiting to be revealed in your ordinary day?
“Which defines your day — the pinch of a small pain, or the miracle still happening?” What quiet miracles are unfolding around you?
“Sit near a window and note other life forms — the ant, the leaf, the bird.” What small piece of the world is asking for your attention?
“How will you carry yourself today, knowing you are one of the rarest forms of life to ever walk the earth?” How does that change the way you move through daily moments?
Creative Play: Noticing as Art
• Three-minute sketch: Pick anything nearby (your cup, a window corner, a plant). Sketch without thinking. Let simplicity be your meditation.
• Micro-photography: Take a photo of something overlooked: a shadow, a texture, a small detail, then write one sentence about it.
• A collection of five small beauties: Throughout the week, record five small things that caught your eye. At week’s end, read the list. Notice how your attention shapes your reality.
A Small Glimpse Into My Own Journey
While preparing this week’s letter, I scrolled through my phone and gathered one painting and one personal photo from each year since 2017.
It was a quiet reminder that growth doesn’t always feel dramatic — sometimes it shows up in colours, in tiny shifts, in the way we soften or begin again.
I chose one pair for you today — a moment from a past year that still holds light for me.
Maybe it will spark a small memory in you too.
