The Journaling Muse – Issue #20 Where the Light Finds You
A soft space to reflect, reconnect, and create with feeling.
My intention is to help you slow down and soothe your nervous system — through colour, texture, and expressive journaling that speaks gently to your inner world.
Reflection: The Return of Light
After months of muted skies and quiet introspection, I find myself energised by brightness.
Whether it’s the golden hour shimmering on Kryspinów Lake or the soft morning glow in Kazimierz, I’m noticing how light has a way of finding us—even when we’re not looking for it.
Pause for a moment:
Where do you notice light returning in your life?
Is it a physical glow, or a subtle shift in your mood, your energy, your creative spark?
Creative Ritual: A Gentle Reset
As we approach the solstice, let’s clear a little space—on our desks, in our minds, and in our hearts. Here’s a simple ritual to welcome the light:
- Clear Your Space
Tidy your creative corner. Let go of what feels heavy or stagnant.
- Choose Your Word
Pick a word for June that embodies the energy you want to invite.
(Mine is Radiance. What’s yours?)
- Set an Intention
Write it down. Place it somewhere you’ll see every day. A little altar, your mirror, inside of your journal.
Art & Journal Prompt: Grow Into the Light
This month’s prompt is simple and luminous:
Paint, collage, or journal the energy you want to grow into.
Imagine yourself looking at a flower, just quietly opening, as the sun touches its petals.
What colours, words, or images reflect the light you long for?
What part of you is ready to open?
Let your materials reflect what you’re calling in—hope, softness, boldness, clarity. There are no rules. Just your light, unfolding.
My Creative Places: KryspinĂłw Lake & Kazimierz
To welcome the light, I’ve been returning to places that nourish me.
Kryspinów Lake: On quiet evenings, I walk along the sandy shore, watching the sky reflected in the water, reeds swaying, and little ducks drifting by. There’s something about the light here—how it dances on the surface, how it makes everything feel possible.
Kazimierz, Krakow: Sunday mornings find me wandering these charming streets—past cozy cafés, the beloved writers’ bookstore where journals quietly call, art shops, unique dresses and flea market filled with forgotten treasures. I love the old sewing machines turned into tables, the repurposed stories, the sense of creative presence in every corner.
These places remind me: inspiration isn’t something we chase—it’s something we notice. And often, it arrives in the light.
Where are your favourite places?
Closing Note
As summer begins to rise, may you find your own quiet glow again.
Let light find you. Let it remind you of everything you still want to become.
Cheering on You,
Beáta
